John E. Hoffman, 82, of Burnt Hills passed away peacefully on July 18, 2022. Born in Catskill, New York to his late parents John William Hoffman and Geraldine Deyo Hoffman, John was raised in Clarksville, New York.
After graduating from Bethlehem High School, John proudly enlisted into the United States Army. For 6 years, he created fond memories in the armed forces, especially while stationed in Alaska; memories that turned into great stories.
In 1966, he married the former, Leona Bolani, they shared 57 years of marriage together.
For many years, he was the owner of H&S Trash Removal, and he retired from Park Waste in Clifton Park.
John enjoyed bowling and golfing, he visited many popular golf courses across the country throughout his lifetime. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and his football team were the Buffalo Bills. His favorite games to watch, however, were those that his grandsons, Connor and Matthew, were playing in.
In his spare time, he would often be found at the local Stewarts shops reading the newspaper or in his yard maintaining his property. He also enjoyed a fun day at the Saratoga Race Track or trying his luck at the casino.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Hoffman; children, Steven Hoffman, Katherine Hoffman-Shanks, Stacy VanAmburgh and Karen Hoffman Stoliker (Michael); 8 grandchildren and his great-grandchildren; as well as a cherished sister, Joan Shoddy.
