Robert S. Ciciarelli (Bob), 70, of Slater Dr. died peacefully at his home July 29, 2014. He was a Syracuse, NY native, born April 14, 1944 to the late Dominic and Helen Ciciarelli. Bob graduated from the Wm. Nottingham H.S. in Syracuse in 1964. He began a career in the automotive industry at Genuine Parts Company in Utica and served in the U.S. Army from'70-72. Upon moving to Glenville he started the NAPA stores in Rotterdam and Scotia under his corporation name, Schenectady Unit Parts. Inc. Bob worked tireless hours at his store and was well respected in his field. His life hobby was die cast model cars. A large collection filled his basement. Bob had a knack at winning at casinos in Atlantic City where he traveled monthly as well as annual trips to Las Vegas. An avid poker player he enjoyed a circle of friends who regularly met Thursdays for "serious stakes"! He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Survivors include Bob's brothers, Paul of Alabama and Don Ciciarelli of Syracuse; his aunt, Agnes Biront of Syracuse, cousin Carol Redanty and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the caregivers who with compassion and integrity comforted Bob in his final days during his illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. Glenville with Rev. J. Thomas Connery officiating. Calling hours will be Friday, August 1st, from 6-9 PM at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. A committal service will be held on Monday (time TBD) at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Veteran's Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY.
