Robert P. Lunkes, 85, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2018 at the Baptist Health Center. Born in Chicago, Illinois he was the son of the late Robert and Adalene Lunkes. When Robert was 10 years old he and his family moved to Worcester, VT where attended Montpelier High School and graduated in 1950. He went on to continue his education at Vermont Junior College. Robert proudly served in Korea in the Army from 1952 to 1953. He married his beloved wife Maxine (Kimball) Lunkes on August 17, 1957 in Morrisville, VT. Following their marriage, the couple moved to the Schenectady area where Robert worked for General Electric. He retired in 1993 after 35 years, as a Methods Specialist. He was a member of the G.E. Apprentice Alumni Association and the former Christopher Yates Masonic Lodge in Schenectady. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Maxine, Robert is survived by his daughters Kathleen (Robert Gerasia, Sr.) Lunkes and Carol (Kenneth) Chaisson. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael Gerasia, Claire Chaisson and Krista Chaisson as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothea Lunkes.
Funeral services will be held privately for the family. Burial will take place at Worcester Village Cemetery, Worcester, VT.
