Obituary of Jane Badalucco

Jane Badalucco (Weise), 83, passed way October 5, 2018 at Ellis Hospital after a sudden illness. Jane was surrounded by her loving family as she entered her eternal rest.  Born in Schenectady and raised on the Weise family farm in Glenville, she was the daughter of the late Leland and Mary (Wager) Weise.  For several years she resided in the Goose Hill neighborhood in Schenectady where she attended the former Nott Terrace high School.  It was there that she met and married her husband, Richard "Dick" Badalucco. They were married on March 24, 1954. The couple built their own home on Heatherington St. in Scotia, then lived on Brookwood Drive in Glenville from 1976 on.  Jane worked for several eating establishments, among them Ecobelli's in Ballston Spa.

She, her husband Dick and brother-in-law Jerry established and ran the Villa Capri Restaurant in Burnt Hills for several years.  Jane owned several horses as a young woman and was especially fond of dogs and cats.  She enjoyed gaming chances and played Bingo frequently with her buddies: Debbie, Patty, Rita and John. An avid bowler, Jane was a member of several leagues in the Schenectady/Scotia area.  She was devoted to her family and is remembered as a giving and sincere person.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Glenville for many years.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Lynda Cook (1994) and her beloved husband, Richard in 2011.

Survivors left to mourn her loss is her daughter Kathy (Lou Torres) Gadoury of Rotterdam; her grandchildren: Scott (Nicole) Cook, Shawn Cook, Darielle Cook, Nicole Daniels, Thomas (Franki) Gadoury, Todd (Michelle) Gadoury, Kristy Gadoury, and Richard Gadoury. Jane leaves a legacy of 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren (one on the way), her sister Nancy Shirer, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Jean Badalucco, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cat "Annie", the last cat Dick and Jane cared for together.
