Obituary of Peter James Kopchik

Peter James Kopchik,53, passed away after a brief illness on November 29, 2018. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of George and Marge Kopchik. Peter grew up in Charlton, he was a 1983 graduate of Burnt Hills High School and went on to attended UMASS in Amherst, MA, where he played college football. He moved to Colorado over 20 years ago and was working at Advance Surface Technologies.  Peter was always very active in sports whether he was playing or coaching. He prided himself on not only teaching the sport but also life values. Peter was very supportive of his children and their sporting activities as well. He believed you should always try your best and do what’s right. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. Peter was also instrumental in the development and building of the American Bowman Club in Colorado. Above all he will be remembered for the love he had for his family and that he was always there to lend a helping hand.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents George and Marge Kopchik, his children Keri and Casey Kopchik, brothers Michael (Wendy) Kopchik and Joseph (Kim) Kopchik and sister Susan Kopchik. Also surviving are his nieces Katie (Cody) Moore and Kira Kopchik.
