Obituary of Ruth G. Skinner

Dateline: Ballston Lake

Ruth G. Skinner, 69, passed away suddenly on her birthday, May 23, 2021 at her home. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth (Phipps) Phillips. Ruth was a 1970 graduate of Brownsburg High School and also married her high school sweetheart, late husband Kenneth E. Skinner the same year.  She was a dedicated homemaker and a very active mother. Ruth enjoyed being the assistant coach for multiple of her daughter Kelly’s softball leagues. She also spent her time gardening and crafting. Christmas will always be cherished as a festive time for the family. Ruth will be remembered for her stubborn, feisty attitude and her love of Sasquatch documentaries. Above all her family was the most important, and Ruth always ensured their needs were met.

Left to cherish her memory are her children David J. Skinner (Heather Madeline Skinner), Charlotte Skinner-Todd (Paul Todd) and Kellena Ruth Skinner Lupian (Michael Lupian) Additional survivors include her grandchildren Darren M. Skinner, Zachary J. Todd and Gemma Louise-Madeline Skinner, her brothers Michael Phillips (Jill Denham Phillips) and Gregory Phillips, and her father’s wife, Carolyn Sue Phillips. Several cousins, nieces, nephews and other family and friends in New York, Indiana, Colorado and beyond also survive.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband in 2001.
