William Lawley Krewson, 90, of Kingsway Community, passed away at Kingsway Arms on September 6. Born in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late Robert Hamilton and Mary Lawley Krewson, he grew up in Springfield, PA. William served in the Navy from 1943-46 receiving the American Campaign and World War II Victory medals. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1943 and later earned a MS degree at the University of Maryland. Mr. Krewson was a research engineer at the US Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. for 47 years. He married Marjorie Spencer Billstein on January 21, 1956 at Mount Vernon Place U.M. Church. Bill and Marjorie lived in Prince George's County, MD for forty years before moving to Schenectady in 2012. Bill was very active in his church, serving in a variety of capacities at Mount Vernon Place U.M. Church. He enjoyed traveling and participating in Elder Hostel programs both in the US and overseas. He was an avid bird watcher and supported the Audubon Society. Bill was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Capkovic. Survivors include his beloved wife Marjorie, his sons: Robert Alan Krewson and his wife Linda of Hooksett, NH; David Arthur Krewson and his wife Cynthia of Annapolis, MD; and Stephen Richard Krewson and his wife Stina of Schenectady. He leaves his cherished grandchildren: Stephen Krewson, Susannah (Daniel) Crook, John, MaryAnna, Thomas and Christina Krewson; as well as six nieces. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 16 at 11 AM from the GLENVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 9 Glenridge Rd. East Glenville, NY with the Rev. David Bisset of Clifton Park Community Church. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call prior from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place with Navy honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY, at 1:30 PM. Memorial contributions are preferred sent in William Lawley Krewson's name to HABITAT FOR HUMANITY.ORG.
